I've been an outdoors woman all my life. It all began when I caught my first fish at age 18 mos. I went from fishing Blugills to casting for Muskies. Somewhere in between I picked up bowfishing with my dad. Now, when I have time, I bowfish. When bowfishing season winds down, I get ready for the fall archery season. When archery is over, I harness up the dogs and go sledding.
I was always a fisherman but was never really a "Hunter" until I met my husband. His family was big into archery and I couldn't wait to go. I've been bowhunting for about 7 years and absolutely love it. I'd take bowhunting over rifle hunting any day. Bowhunting has given me so much more of a respect for nature than I ever imagined.
In 1997 my husband and I took over AMS Retriever Co. We manufacture the Retriever Bowfishing reel that my dad invented while I was growing up. I've been the sole "employee" since then and barely manage to get the work done while keeping my kids at home/work with me. Sawyer is three and Sierra, just one. On top of everything else, I have 5 Siberian Huskies that I harness up and run a couple times a week. We've had our own dog-sledding adventures as well.
Living in rural central Wisconsin, the outdoors almost has to be part of your life. We've chosen to make it a big part of our lives, as well as the lives of our children.
