One good safety idea for hunting dog at night is to attach a tip up light to their hunting vest. A tip up light is generally used on ice fishing tip ups, so when its dark you can see the flag pop up. But this light (purchased anywhere they sell fishing gear or online), can be clipped to your dog and so that you can see her in the dark in any situation.

During ice fishing, I put an orange neoprene vest on my springer spaniel to keep her warm and to make sure she is visible to cars driving across the ice.   At night, she enjoys walking around near the ice shanty, but I am concerned that snowmobiles and trucks might not see her, so I attached a tip up light with alligator clips to the back of the vest.  It glows very bright and she can be seen in the darkest of nights.

Here is Daisy and I fishing in the portable ice shanty right before I put the neoprene vest and light on her. This is a close up of the neoprene orange vest with the  tip up light clipped with a alligator clip.

Daisy is walking with the tip up light carefully hooked to back of vest so that it won’t fall off and she can’t see it either.

This light can be used for night hunting for raccoons or other animals. We love our hunting dogs and want to keep them safe.

It’s very dark here, but you can see the brightness of the tip up light as Daisy is running.  This photo was taken 100 yards away and zoomed in.
