“Puppy Mill” Mania Ensnares Sporting Dog Breeders (Click Here For More)
Sportsmen Action Needed in Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and Nebraska
One of the newest, and most insidious, tactics used by the anti-hunting movement in its war on our heritage involves the regulation of so-called “puppy mills.”  Right now, major efforts are underway to pass legislation mandating extremely onerous regulations on all dog kennels in numerous states throughout the nation.  Sportsmen must oppose these efforts.

Florida Sportsmen Face Forced Spay and Neuter Law (Click Here For More)
Immediate action needed
Florida sporting dog owners face a mandatory spay/neuter bill.  House Bill 451 will put unnecessary hardships on sporting dog owners and permanently damage the breeding of hunting dogs.  Florida sportsmen should contact their state legislators and oppose this bill.

Rhode Island Bill Would Prohibit Keeping Dogs Outdoors (Click Here For More)
Legislation in Connecticut Prohibits the Use of Tethers
A new bill in Rhode Island would virtually prohibit all outdoor dog kennels and represents a threat to sportsmen by giving the anti-hunting movement another tool to attack our heritage. Additionally, in Connecticut, two bills have been introduced along the same lines. Sportsmen and sporting dog owners are urged to contact their legislators in opposition.

Harvard Law Professor to Head Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs
The new head of a federal office with review authority over all agency rules has an extensive record supporting animal rights and even calling for the banning of hunting.  This raises the possibility of pro- hunting, fishing, and trapping rules being deep sixed before they ever get a chance to move forward.

California Sportsmen Must Oppose Plans to Divert Wildlife Funds (Click Here For More)
Governor Schwarzenegger Wants to Shift $30 Million to Other State Programs
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest budget proposal includes a shell game shifting $30 million away from state wildlife programs to cover other budget shortfalls.  This action raises significant concerns in the sportsman community that the diversion will hamper the Department of Fish and Game’s ability to conduct its operations.

Howard County Maryland supervisors tomorrow will hear a proposal that could effectively close most, if not all, hunting in one of the state’s major hunting areas.

Legislation Imposes Costly Restrictions on Sporting Dog Breeders
Two new bills introduced in Illinois and Minnesota continues the antis’ trend to put hunting dog breeders in the crosshairs by ostensibly targeting abusive commercial dog breeders.
