| My Turkey I shot this year (spring 2005) with my shotgun. My husband and I were hunting an area south of Lancaster, Ohio and we heard this bird gobble as we exited the truck. We set up on him and he gobbled for what seemed like hours, My husband started calling to him and he flew down and landed on top of the hill and gobble all the way down to me giving me a good shot at 20 yards. Turkey hunting in the area of Ohio we live in is not easy and I have only harvested 2 birds in 7 years. This bird was very special since my husband was enjoying the hunt with me also. We headed out after putting this gobbler in the truck to call in a big Tom for him but we only had jakes come into the calls. Our whole family enjoyed Wild Turkey for Thanksgiving this year.

The spring turkey limit in Texas is four birds and I took two of that limit this spring while hunting at the famed Rio Benito Ranch near Kerrville. The ranch is home to over 16 species of free-ranging animals that were stocked there in the 1920's. This elegant ranch is one-of-a-kind with it's bountiful cowboy and Indian history furthermore it is run by a very capable lady.

April, 2004 - Door County, WI. My carefully planned turkey hunt from the ground blind turned into an impromptu spot and stalk. After 45 minutes of slowly slipping through 50 yards of brush, muck and water I finally was in position. I only needed to get the birds about 20 yards closer. My box call did the trick and I placed the cross-hairs of my scope just below the jake's head. Seconds later it was over. 6" Beard, 1/2 Spurs, 15 lbs
